I am writing this on Sarah's laptop in Bristol at her kitchen table while Joshua and Oliver chase helium baloons around the room. It's 12:30 pm on a cold and grey day (Thursday, December 21), but without the thick fog of yesterday.
Unfortunately my 'flu' virus that I had before we left New Zealand has gotten worse and we have not been able to get out as much as we would have liked as my legs were very sore indeed and walking was difficult. Anca and I went to the Bristol hospital yesterday to see a doctor (free as NZ and the UK have a reciprocal arrangement). Anyway, examination, blood and urine tests and an ultrasound scan all showed nothing untoward and there recommendation was further rest.
We are considering both going to Romania instead of me going skiing on 26th but I have a little more mobility today so hopefully I will be able to ski as I stillhave five days to get better.
We did see Buckingham Palace, Whitehall, Wetminster Abbey (only outside), Trafalgar Square, Piccadilly Circus, the Tower of London and London Bridge.
Darren and Sarah and the boys are good. Their house in Bristol is very nice and the London flat was good too.
